Yura Jang

is a collaborative pianist, opera coach, and educator based in New York City. Recognized for her refined musical sensitivity, collaborative artistry, and versatility, she has performed extensively with vocalists, instrumentalists, and ensembles across a broad range of repertoire, from standard classical works to contemporary music.

Yura has developed extensive experience as an opera coach and collaborative pianist, contributing to productions of Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro, Puccini’s La Bohème, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Bizet’s Carmen, and Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore. She has also collaborated in performances of major vocal works, including Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, demonstrating her commitment to expressive and stylistically informed musical collaboration.

During the 2025–2026 season, Yura served as an Opera Coach with Toledo Opera, where she worked closely with resident artists, conductors, and production staff in opera rehearsals, coachings, and performances. She continues to maintain an active performance career throughout the New York metropolitan area as a collaborative pianist for singers, instrumentalists, competitions, recitals, and chamber music projects.

Yura has appeared at distinguished venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Steinway Hall, the German Consulate General in New York, and WQXR. She was awarded the Grand Prize at the 2024 UK International Music Competition and First Prize at the LAKMA Foundation Competition, where she also received a scholarship.

As an educator, Yura enjoys mentoring young musicians through private instruction and collaborative performance. She has also worked with students at Mannes Prep and remains passionate about helping singers and pianists develop confident, artistic, and thoughtful musicianship.

Yura earned her Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the Mannes School of Music in New York under the guidance of Cristina Stanescu. She received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Seoul in South Korea. She is currently continuing her advanced collaborative piano studies through the Professional Development Program at Mannes School of Music while maintaining an active career as a performer, collaborator, and educator.
